Obituary of Agnes Carron
Agnes Frances Carron, 94, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Fairview Southdale Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1913, in Springvale Township, MN the youngest daughter of Erick and Anna (Anderson) Nordstrom. She grew up in Springvale attending the Pine Brook Country School and helping out with her sisters on the home farm. After her schooling, Agnes moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a housekeeper for a few years. She would go on to work at Honeywell during World War II.
She married Lawrence Carron in Minneapolis and they would make their home in Braham for just a few years before moving to a farm east of Cambridge in 1948. In 1962 Agnes moved into Cambridge. Agnes worked at the Cambridge Launderers and Cleaners for about five years. She also worked at the Cambridge State Hospital for a number of years before retiring from there. More recently Agnes lived at Mill Ridge Commons in Cambridge.
Agnes was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church and also volunteered at the Cambridge Hospital. She enjoyed bowling and was on a Senior Bowling League, she liked knitting, crocheting, cooking, doing word puzzles, was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to baseball games. She loved lutefisk and looked forward every year to going to the Cambridge Lutheran Church Lutefisk Supper. Agnes especially enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Annette Carron-Seymour, sisters Florence Swenson and Gladys Norberg, and former husband Lawrence Carron.
Agnes is survived by her son Richard and wife Karen Carron of Lakeville, daughter Evonne Carron of Omaha, Nebraska, four grandchildren Carrie Seymour of Beaver Creek, Colorado, Brent Carron of Savage, Minnesota, Laura Carron of Nashville, Tennessee, and Nathan Chaparelle of Michigan, as well as other relatives and friends.
