Obituary of Wilfred Nelson

Wilfred Herman Nelson, 92, of Minneapolis, formerly of Athens Township passed away on Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Augustana Home in Minneapolis. He was born September 14, 1915 in Athens Township, Isanti County, Minnesota to Alfred and Alice (Olson) Nelson. He grew up in the Athens area and attended country school. Wilfred enlisted in the United States Army in December 1941 and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 5, 1945. Wilfred worked for several years at Stephens Buick. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Hazel Nelson in February 2005. Wilfred is survived by niece Karen and husband Donald Bandelin of Hugo, great nephew Brian and wife Jessica Bandelin of St. Paul, great niece Tracy Bandelin of Ohio, as well as other relatives.
