Obituary of Elaine Tschumper

Elaine Faye Wiese Tschumper passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on January 26, 2013. She was born 3rd in line of 11 children on January 23, 1937 to Kenneth & Leona (Teff) Wiese. She was raised in Hokah and educated at St. Peter's Catholic Church & School.Life in a family of 13 instilled the traits & skills of compassion, commitment, dedication & service she displayed throughout her lifetime. Her faith in God & Catholic religion was her backbone. On May 11, 1957 she married Donald W Tschumper, from this union 4 children were born. Julene Mary, Mark Alan, Matthew Donald & Eric Girard. In March of 1963 the family moved to the farm in Stanchfield where the rest of her life played out. Later, Elaine & Donald divorced. In 1965 she graduated & became a Licensed Practical Nurse for Memorial Hospital (now Cambridge Medical Center) beginning her profession of caring & service. Throughout the years she continued with various education courses to employ herself as a home health aide & an educator of different programs relating to the health field. She was employed by Isanti County Public Health for 35 years until retiring in January 2010. Elaine was a member of both Christ the King Catholic Church of Cambridge & St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Braham. Her involvement included teaching CCD, singing in the choir, Christian mothers, being a Eucharist minister both in church as well as administering to those in nursing homes & shut-ins. She also served in various positions on both church boards & committees throughout her lifetime. Elaine enjoyed all aspects of living on the farm she loved to see it flourish with crops, animals, her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed both indoor & outdoor activities; nothing kept her from trying new ones. She enjoyed her trips whether near or far, by airplane or car. She was always ready for activities with family & friends. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren & great- grandchildren. Elaine is survived by her children, daughter Julene (Dave ) Kadlec; 3 sons Mark (Rachel), Matthew (Becky ) & Eric ( Dawn); 9 grandchildren Jaime (Jamie) Weber, Jessica (Patrick) Marier, Lucas (Tricia) Krause, Melissa Tschumper, Madison Tschumper, Jamie Gillesby, Connor Tschumper, Jacob Tschumper & Emma Tschumper; 9 great grandchildren; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
