Oh my goodness. I have never read this obituary before. I just heard about my Great Aunt Annette passing away. My husband, Jim and I were just talking about them while we were coming up to Minneapolis. We thought of taking a drive out to where they lived to peak in on Annette. Now, I regret that so much.
But, in honor and loving memory of my Great Uncle Edwin Klatt I would like to say this:
There was never a time when I saw him the he wasn't full of life and laughter. He could tell stories for hours whether it was about his time in the service or his time in Minnesota. I remember how much fun he was when he came out to Washington State for reunions and you knew he was there by his laughter. He was kind and sweet. He would go hunting and invite everything he met or were hunting with him to his house for my Aunt Annette to cook up a dinner. And, she would, happily for him.
There was never an enemy that knew my Uncle Edwin. He was my grandfather, Gus's brother.
Uncle Ed would tease me all the time. Not the teasing that was mean spirited but just enough to make me laugh.
How I miss him and I miss my Aunt, who just passed away.
Oh, and my Uncle loved to talk about going ice fishing. And, my husband, Jim's eyes would light up with all the stories as he was just beginning to get involved in the sport.
Thank you Uncle Ed for your kindness, your love and all your wonderful stories. You are sorely missed!!
Love you dearly,
Your niece Vicki and her husband Jim Robles

Dear Ed & Bobbi, My sympathy goes with you in your time of loss. I want to share with you a hope that the Bible offers to us in our time of sorrow. The Bible compares death to sleep. It speaks of "falling asleep in death." We all have an inborn desire to live. In fact God created us with the capacity to live forever. Death was not part of God's original purpose for mankind. Adam and Eve were created perfect with the hope of living forever in a paradise earth. We all know that they sinned and lost God's favor and eventually died. But God's plan for the ones we lose to sleep in death has not changed. God has a limitless memory, and he promises to bring all the dead who are in his memory back to life here on earth. Under ideal conditions, would you not love to live on a paradise earth? Psalms 37:29 says, "the righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it". Imagine the happiness that will result when dead loved ones are resurrected. If there is any thing I can do to help, please let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you. With sympathy Laural Thornton

My condolences at the passing of Ed Sr. As a kid I had spent alot of time over at the Klatt household playing with Brad. We had alot of fun and Ed would keep us inline when things got out of hand. I remember how much Ed and Annette made me feel like a part of the family, Annette's cooking was not too bad either! I'll never forget when I went into the ditch with my car on your dirt road and twisted the frame, it was Ed who came with the tractor and towed my car to the house. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sincerely, Kent and Robyn Torell
