Obituary of Leonard Ramswick

Leonard R. "Skip" Ramswick, 84, of Grasston died on Thursday, February 13, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 8, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to Len and Petra (Osein) Ramswick. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Shortly after graduation he joined the Army where he was stationed in Laurel, MS as military police. On May 15, 1954 he was united in marriage to Darlene Malek in Hutchison, MN. They moved to Bloomington to raise their two sons. He started work at a loading dock at Kronstrom's Manufacturing. Leonard then became a truck driver for Century Mercury, and after 35 years he retired in 1992. Upon retirement be decided to work at Mars Corp. for a few years. Eventually, in June of 2004, he moved to Grasston to be near his sons. Leonard enjoyed music. He played the bass guitar and sometimes filled in for his son's band. Leonard's other hobbies include playing church softball, golfing, and coaching kids pee-wee hockey. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister June. Skip is survived by his wife Darlene; sons Keith (Vonnie) Ramswick of Rush City, Kyle (Robin) Ramswick of Circle Pines; grandson Sean Ramswick of Saint Paul; brother Corky (Shari) Ramswick of Prior Lake; and sister Arlyn Williams of Minneapolis as well as nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
