Obituary of Joseph Cox

Joseph K. Cox, 65, of Milaca died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Mille Lacs Health Systems in Onamia. He was born on December 29, 1947 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Joe and Kathryn (Stefanski) Cox. In 1954 Joe and his family moved to Coin, MN and resided there for 4 ½ years. Then they moved to Braham where Joe graduated from Braham Area High School in 1965. Shortly after high school he went into the Army Reserves for six years. On March 4, 1968 his only son Dondi was born. Joe worked for Arcon Road Construction for a few years. He opened his own business in Mounds View - Mid American Auto and operated it for over 20 years. After he sold the business he moved to Anoka where he continued to repair and sell cars. In 2003, he moved to Milaca and continued to tinker with cars while being semi-retired. Besides his passion for cars, Joe had a love for deer and bird hunting. He also enjoyed playing poker games every now and then. He was a kindhearted man and was well liked by others. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Kathryn; sister-in-law Rosemarie Cox; nephew Shannon Soderberg. Joe is survived by his son Dondi Cox of St. Francis; granddaughter Samantha Sanders of St. Francis; brothers, Ronald Cox of Apple Valley, Terrance (Debbie) Cox of Cambridge; sisters, Beverly Soderberg of Isanti, Colleen Camp of Clinton, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
