Obituary of Eleanor Anderson
Eleanor M Anderson of Cambridge died March 15, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West.
She was born June 18, 1922 to Albin and Mabel Lindquist in Mora, MN. She went to school in a country school across Highway 65 from their home just south of Knife Lake.
Roy and Eleanor were married June 29, 1940 and their son, David, was born in March of 1943. Roy was stationed in Pensacola, FL during the war and Eleanor and David joined him there. This is where they met their very special friends, Bill and Janie Barnum and family. They have visited the Barnums in Canandaigua, NY several times and stayed in touch all these years. Roy and Eleanor were called Uncle Andy and Aunt Eleanor by the Barnums, and even though Bill and Janie are gone now, their children always remember them at special times during the year.
Eleanor worked at the Arsenal in Arden Hills, Cambridge Woolen Mills, and Control Data in Cambridge. Her most important work was as a wife and mother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful seamstress, cook, baker, bookkeeper, and she kept up on family history information.
Roy and Eleanor have been married 72 years and have lived in their same house in Cambridge since 1946.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; son, David (Chris) of Fridley; brothers Delbert (Joyce) Lindquist and Loren Lindquist of Cambridge; and sister, Doris Johnson of Braham; and several nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by brother, Donald, and sisters, Marian and Irene.
