Obituary of Paul Westerberg

Paul Milo Westerberg, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. He was born July 31, 1926 on the family homestead in Springvale Township, Minnesota to John and Lenore (Mattson) Westerberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Cambridge Lutheran Church. Paul attended the Walbo Country School, graduated from Cambridge High School and also the University of Minnesota Agricultural School. On September 4, 1948 he was united in marriage to Dolores Bellin at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. They made their home in Springvale where they raised their three children and farmed for over 48 years; first dairy, then beef and finally sheep farmers. They earned the Silver Bell Award in 1983 from the Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers for sheep farming. Paul also worked as an agricultural research technician for the University of Minnesota for 18 years. He served as director of the Springvale Mutual Insurance Company for 25 years. Over the years, Paul enjoyed square dancing, roller skating and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, sister-in-law Lorraine. Paul is survived by his wife Dolores, children Carolyn and husband Steven Callahan of Park Ridge, IL, Milo Westerberg of Princeton, Rita and husband Jeffrey Johnson of Cambridge, grandchildren Derek (Maggi) Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Nicholas Callahan, Shaina Westerberg, great grandchildren Logan Paul Geurts and Lauren Johnson, brother Donald and wife Gerri Westerberg of Cambridge, sister Joyce and husband Lowell Clifford of Bloomington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
