I remember the authors of the show told the cast about this amazing man they discovered in a bar who could play all these instruments and didn't even read music.They were so right.He was quiet, so I didn't notice him that much at first. But I came to love him very much. He was gentle and kind and was a great addition to the cast and to my life. WIsh he could have stayed on this planet longer.

Lyle was one of my favorite people of all time. The time we spent playing music & just hanging out together in the Man Made Blues Band was a major influence in inspiring me to be a lifelong musician. Over the years as I moved farther from MN, eventually to Hawaii, he was one of the few people I always kept in touch with. He always had a chuckle in his voice, what a great guy to talk with & be around - and a very fine musician. Miss you so much, Lyle. You made us all feel blessed to know you.

Our heart felt condolences go to Lyle's family. Lyle was an extraordinary human being and musician. I have many fond memories playing with Lyle, Wendy and Al Swedeen over the years. Lyle was well known for his country roots and his fiddle playing but I most enjoyed backing him on the blues and soulful songs like Whiter Shade of Pale and Tough Enough. Lyle was truly remarkable and will be deeply missed by all.

Lyle wrote a song about eating green apples which was about Lyle, my brother Gary and me when we were young. We grew up in Walbo and were always together building forts in hay bales, digging dirt tunnels and just being kids. We were even a band called the Bleatles in a 4-H show being chased down the hall at our school like the real Beatles. We played music together at different times growing up and it will never be the same without our main and unbelievably talented cousin Lyle, R.I.P., I'll see you again.
