Obituary of Rose Scott

Rose M. Scott, 67, of Cambridge died on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, surrounded by family. She taught us all how to live our lives with optimism, grace and dignity while fighting a courageous 12 year battle against CLL. She was born in Oelwein, Iowa on July 12, 1945. She grew up in Robbinsdale, MN and later in Onamia, MN when her family moved to their lake Mille Lacs home. She spent her early adult life as a young farm wife raising four children. She later had a fulfilling career as a home health aide, until health issues made it difficult to continue working. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Delmer Scott in Isle, MN. Delmer provided her loving care and comfort each and every day of their life together. Rose enjoyed music, reading, knitting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She was an amazingly giving person and continues to give even in death. Rose has donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Alma Warneke; brothers Donald, James, and David Warneke; first husband William Berry; son Roger Berry and daughter Denise Berry. She is survived by her husband Delmer of Cambridge; children Sheila (Tim) Degner of Golden Valley, Wayne (Jenny) Berry of Portland, OR, Jim (Julie) Berry of St. Cloud, Shannon (Tom) LaMarr of Des Moines, IA, daughter-in-law Debbie Kramer of Flaxton, North Dakota, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters Martha Biggerstaff of St. Paul, Theresa (Marv) Berry of Isle, Shirley Warneke of Seattle, WA. We rejoice that her pain and suffering are over. However, as she is enjoying her new perfect life in heaven, we miss her deeply. She will always be remembered and admired for her fierce faith, gentle spirit, and amazing attitude! The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the nurses, physician, and staff at Fairview University for their dedicated and compassionate manner with which they have treated Rose for over a decade.
