Obituary of Robert Maust
Robert Roy Maust, 74, of rural Isanti passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
He was born May 28, 1939 on the home farm in Pine River, Minnesota to Roy and Mae (Frisch) Maust. Bob was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He went on to graduate from Pine River High School and after graduating, went to work at Honeywell in Minneapolis for a short time. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to work at Honeywell.
Bob was united in marriage to Patricia Sargent. The couple had two sons, and lived for a time in Oklahoma and California, later returning to the Minneapolis area before eventually settling in Bradford in 1976. Bob continued working at Honeywell until retiring in 1998 and remained in Bradford.
On October 13, 1984 he married Kaye Peters at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa and they lived at his home in Bradford.
Bob enjoyed woodworking, caring for his flower and vegetable gardens, leatherworking, and traveling. He and Kaye visited every state in the U.S. He especially loved his cats and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Schuster. Bob is survived by his wife Kaye of Isanti, sons Dan Maust of Clayton, NY, Steve and wife Jill Maust of Ramsey, step sons Keith Peters of Circle Pines, Kirk and wife Angie Peters of Braham, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister Carol and husband Jerry Stai of Burnsville, brother Ron and wife Bev Maust of Nevada, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
