Obituary of Lorraine Reichel
Lorraine Linnae Reichel, 80, of Isanti went home to be with her Savior on July 9, 2013 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She was welcomed into this life by her loving parents Theodore and Mabel Hermanson on September 2, 1932. She had the pleasure of having one sister, Marilyn and she lived with her family in Duluth until her marriage to Wilbur Reichel on June 11, 1955.
Lorraine and Will were married for 58 years and were blessed with three children, Brad, Mark and Brenda. Her children were fortunate to have her as a stay-home mom and she loved caring for them every day. She always made sure her kids were involved in many activities and brought them everywhere they needed to go.
Over the years she watched her children grow up and get married. Brad married Sandy and they have three children Kevin, Jennifer, and Adam (Jessica) Reichel. Mark married Leanne and they have three children Jeffrey (Samantha), Carolyn, and Gregory (Christina) Reichel, Brenda married Dale Oelrich and they gave her three step grandchildren Devin, Daniel and Savannah. She also had the joy of having a beautiful great granddaughter Ryley Jo Reichel and a step great grandson Isaac Oelrich.
Lorraine was a blessing every day to her family, with her gentle spirit and servant's heart. She always had a smile and cared about everyone who passed through her home. Her heart was always lifted by the laughter of her family. She showed her family every day the love of Jesus by living her life as an example to others. Her unconditional love was endless and her quiet humble nature was a true expression of her love of her Savior.
In addition to tirelessly taking care of her family, she spent many years serving God at North Isanti Baptist Church. She volunteered in many capacities there: Leading Women's Ministries, working in the kitchen, working with AWANA, folding bulletins, and when she could no longer attend, she continued to be a prayer warrior for her church family. She deeply enjoyed her women's Bible study and looked forward to getting together with the ladies each week to share their lives and learn from God's word.
She had many hobbies during her life. She enjoyed watching sports with her husband, gardening, sewing, all manners of handwork, baking, cooking, reading, puzzles and watching the birds just to name a few.
She will be dearly missed by her family, but they rejoice in the knowledge that she is home with her Savior, having been welcomed in Heaven with the words: "Well done good and faithful servant".
She is survived by her husband Wilbur, sons Brad of Isanti, Mark (Leanne) of Cambridge, daughter Brenda (Dale) Oelrich of Cambridge, six grandchildren Kevin, Jeff, Jeni, Carolyn, Adam and Greg, one great granddaughter Ryley Jo, three step grandchildren Devin, Dan and Savannah, one step great grandson Isaac, sister Marilyn (Donald) Persen of Isanti, sister-in-law Lucy King, aunt Dorothy, as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She is gone from us, but never forgotten. Her love will endure until we meet on that beautiful shore.
