Obituary of Marlys Lindquist
Marlys B. (Bliss) Lindquist, 74, of Cambridge, passed away on July 14, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Marlys was born on March 19, 1939 to Ernest and Eunice (Swanson) Bliss at the Braham Hospital. She grew up in Greeley and attended Rush City Schools. She was baptized in the St. Croix River and confirmed at the Rush City Baptist Church.
In October 1955 she married Donald Weston and had four children. She became a mother and housewife at an early age living in Rush City before moving to Cambridge. In July 1965 she married Albert Treichel and had two additional children. After Albert's passing she continued living on the farm. In July 1975 she married Leslie Lindquist and they continued to reside in Cambridge.
During her life she was employed at Cambridge Municipal Liquor Store as bookkeeper, the Cambridge Egg Company, Grandview Christian Home as an LPN and in housekeeping and then became self-employed for many years.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, collecting, reading and trying new recipes from her numerous cookbooks, spending time with her grandchildren either watching them play sports, school events or by the camp fire. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Les of 38 years, her six children, Keith Weston of Isanti; Cindy Weston of Rush City; Linda Boster and husband Mike of Isanti; Debra Anderson and husband Greg of Zimmerman; Dale Treichel of Minnetonka and Karen Westberg and husband Bruce of Cambridge, her ten grandchildren; Isaac, Nathan (Michelle), Evyn, Levi, Leanna, Rachel (Justin), Gregory (Larissa), Tessa, Lydia and Amanda. Her four great-grandchildren; Ayden, Amelia, Jamie and Ethan; two brothers; Ray "Sonny" Bliss and wife Lois of Brunswick, Lowell Bliss and wife Jeanine of Burnsville, her brother-in-law Dennis Lindquist and wife Charlotte of Cambridge and sister-in-law Cheryl Sauter of Goodrich, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest F. and Eunice B. Bliss, two husbands, Donald Weston and Albert Treichel; brother-in-law Glen Sauter; three grandsons, Zachery, Travis and Shaun.
