Obituary of Edith Amschler
Edith L. Amschler 98, of Minneapolis, formerly of Grandy went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at her daughter's home in Minneapolis.
She was born on May 16, 1915 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Lillian (Aber) Walters.
On December 30, 1950 Edith was united in marriage to Ralph Amschler in Minneapolis. Edith worked for a time at the Powers Department Store in Minneapolis. The family eventually moved to the Grandy area and in her retirement years, Edith worked at the Brass Rail in Grandy and the Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge.
Edith had a special whit and liked to make people laugh. She was a spunky lady and made the best of what she had in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph in March 1992, and brother Raymond Walters. Edith is survived by her daughter Pat Lukanen of Minneapolis, son Jim and wife Judy Amschler of Dallas, TX, grandson Mike Lukanen of Stanchfield granddaughter Christy Amschler of Fairfield, IA, nieces Linda (Dave) McColley of Columbia Heights, Judi Nicolaidis of San Diego, CA, great niece Jennifer Skancke of Oakland, CA, great nephews Eric Spry,of San Diego Craig Skancke and Andraia Carignan (Fiance) and their children Alexa, Destiny, and Jackson of Coon Rapids, as well as numerous other friends.
