Obituary of Adolph Fiebing
Adolph Fiebing Jr. "JR", 63, of Medora, North Dakota passed away on October 15, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
JR was born to Adolph and Alice (Peters) Fiebing in Princeton, MN on May 4, 1950. He graduated from Cambridge High School.
JR lived in the rural lifestyle being raised on a farm with several brothers and sisters. JR worked at various jobs after graduation in local livestock sales barns, helped with ranching, harvesting and also worked at a beet plant. JR always loved the western lifestyle and began his love of horses as a child riding on the ranch. He was able to live out his dream as he made his way West to Medora.
JR began his Medora adventures in association with the Cowboy Hall of Fame in their Wild West Shootouts in the summer of 2009. Once the fall rolled around, JR worked and lived on the Government Creek Ranch owned by Randy and Sue Mosser. He then spent the winter in Sydney, MT working at a sugar beet plant and was able to return to Medora the following spring. In the spring of 2010, JR began working for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation continuing his love of horses by working at the riding stables. JR continued to live and work in that capacity until becoming the teamster for the buggy rides. JR had several teams that he drove for the Foundation, but his favorite seemed to be Dick and Dan. JR was honored to drive the buggies for special occasions; he especially loved to escort the Queen of Medora, Sheila Schafer, around in his buggy. JR greatly enhanced the experience of guests visiting Medora by driving his team through town promoting good will wherever he went. JR's friendship and loyalty really displays what "riding for the brand" means.
JR was preceded in death by his father Adolph and brother Paul.
JR is survived by his mother Alice Fiebing of North Branch, four sons Jeremey (Blanche) Fiebing of Fort Stewart, GA, Chad (Corey) Fiebing of St. Paul, Clint Fiebing of Spirit Lake, IA, Travis Fiebing of St. Croix Falls, WI, daughter Patty Fiebing of Moose Lake, step daughters Janelle Landecker, Mandy and Amy Bursaw of St. Croix Falls, WI, 18 grandchildren, brother Lester Fiebing of Hibbing, Dorothy Nihart of Grand Rapids, Donna Glines of Michigan, Elaine Chaffins of Buffalo, Joyce Fiebing of North Branch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
