Obituary of Lonnie Patzner

Lonnie LeRoy Lewis Patzner, 45, of North Branch passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at The University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on December 13, 1967 in Minneapolis to Ronald and Nancy (Baker) Patzner. Lonnie was raised in North Minneapolis and at the age of 19 the family moved to Cedar MN where he attended Anoka Technical College and graduated as a certified auto body technician. Lonnie and his family later relocated to North Branch where after many years of hard work he was able to start his own auto body business from home which he ran with the help of his sons. Lonnie has two sons and a daughter, Dallie, Marcus, and Mollie from his first marriage and he was later remarried to Leann Ledin and has three step children, James, Katelyn, and Jacob. Lonnie was an avid coin collector and enjoyed spending time with his family traveling and doing outdoor activities he was also an animal lover and loved to play with his dogs Rowdy and Kiki. Lonnie was diagnosed on September 10th 2012 with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia which is very aggressive so much so that he was never able to reach full remission and didn't get the chance to have a bone marrow transplant but, he was a fighter he was strong and young and he fought a good fight always staying positive and he surprised even his Doctors by how long he had remained active. In July of this year Lonnie was told that the cancer was growing faster and they had exhausted all treatment options so, wanting to take control of his life he decided to reduce his visits at the University and just live out the rest of his life. He was a loving son to his parents, his wife, children and siblings, a devoted husband, father, son and brother. Lonnie will be remembered fondly and be greatly missed by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roger and Bernice Patzner, Elmer G. and Jane Mary Baker, aunts Mary Thomas and Christine Baker, uncle James Baker and cousin Darren Moore. Lonnie is survived by his wife Leann, parents Ronald and Nancy Patzner, siblings Jason Patzner and Tracy Fehrman, children Dallie, Marcus, and Mollie Patzner, James Ledin, Katelyn and Jacob Howlett.
