Dear Craig and Lief, I just learned of Glori's passing. I am so sorry for your great loss. I worked with Glori at Bethel and briefly at Northwestern. She was an amazing woman of God. I am comforted to know that she is with Jesus. I actually dreamed about her last night which is how I ended up doing a search online to se if there was any information on how she was doing. It was quite a shock to learn that she was no longer with us. May The Lord continue to comfort you. Susie

Dear Craig and family, I just heard of Glori's passing today. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and I pray that God continues to comfort you as you mourn her loss. I worked with Glori at Bethel and also was a student of hers. As a teacher, she was an amazing inspiration of what a teacher should be. Her joy was contagious and her passion for students and teaching was so evident in everything she did. As a co-worker and friend, she was listening ear and an amazing encourager! I count it as a rare gift to have known someone like Glori in my lifetime and she will continue to live on in my own passion for teaching. My prayers and love go out to you and your family . I knew Glori through church and through work at Bethel. Our sons Leif and Justin played together as little guys, so we first got to know each other as mothers of active boys. Her total optimism was always infectious, and I enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her. It was a delight to work with her as well, and we still talk about her infamous email moniker that summed up her personality - sunglo@bethel.edu. We miss you, Glori!

While studying at Bethel, Dr. Sundberg (Glori) taught me the beautiful craft of bringing Christ's love to my students without ever imposing my beliefs on them. She also taught me to occasionally sit at a student's desk once in awhile to pray for them and to try to "see" the classroom from their perspective. (A practice I follow even today but not nearly enough.) I am now ten years into my profession and I KNOW that I am a better teacher having had her strong encouragement and her wise and Godly teaching as my foundation. Thank you Glori for those gifts. Can't wait to see you again and tell you what a fun ride this has been. Enjoy home.

Craig and family, Glori was one of my good friends and classmates all our years growing up in Cambridge, and then started Bethel together, even in the same dorm for Glori's freshman year. Glori always wore that smile that seemed to never stop, and no one will forget her love of laughter. I was her 'tin man' in the Wizard of Oz. Laughter and Music... Glori and I had a lot of that these past couple years. We loved to sing in high school. And back together again, after all these years, we still loved to sing together. Of recent, when I went to visit Glori we sang....a lot. I brought my guitar and attempted to play after a bit of a hiatus. You see, I was a bit rusty. But Glori didn't care. During one song I stopped playing so our beautiful, melodic voices could be heard. Glori so honestly commented, "Don't stop playing! We sound awful without the guitar!" What a compliment to me and my weak guitar skills! We sang everything from John Denver to the Carpenters to old hymns and gospel. I told her many times we should take our act on the road and we could pay for Leif's college! She didn't think he would be on board with that idea. So instead we just stayed home and entertained ourselves. And now Glori is in heaven with Jesus. She has no more sorrow and no more pain. She is whole and in great joy. She is Somewhere Over the Rainbow with her Lord singing. And she has some really good guitar players for her back up.
