Obituary of Matthew Massich

Matthew Massich of Cambridge died peacefully in his home on Friday, February 22. His wife Hildegarda was by his side. He was 92 years old. Matthew was born on May 14, 1915, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota where he still has family. He was a diesel mechanic and general foreman in the Hibbing mines and a superintendent at Marcona Mining in San Juan, Peru. It was there that he met and married Hildegarda, the love of his life. He worked for 14 years in Peru before moving to Cambridge in 1977. Matthew is survived by Hildegarda, his wife for almost 40 years, his daughter Susan (Terry) Tegg of Granite Falls, his grandsons Tracy (Connie) Tegg of Anoka, Troy (Jill) Tegg of Elk River, and Trent (Angela) Tegg of Grand Rapids Michigan, as well as 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Edgardo (Martha) Venero and Julio (Rosa) Julcamoro, sister-in-law Maria Julcamoro, and father-in-law Rafael Julcamoro. Matthew was the last survivor of 6 brothers and sisters.
