Obituary of Marion Erickson
Marion Erickson, 94, of Cambridge died on February 22, 2008 at the Cambridge Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born to John and Matilda (Frandson) Fjeldehim on September 4, 1913, in Minneapolis. At the age of 6 years the family moved to Grandy. She attended the Grandy Grade School and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1930. She graduated from Beauty School and worked in beauty shops in Crookston and Cambridge.
On June 17, 1939 Marion married A. Russell Erickson. This marriage was blessed with 2 children, Charles and Susan. They made their home in Cambridge and she has been a vital part of the community ever since. Marion was an active member of Cambridge Lutheran Church, volunteered at Shalom Thrift Shop and the hospital auxiliary. Her last week of life she was knitting for others and cutting out squares for the next lap robe she would make. She has made and sent several quilts for Lutheran World Relief and they are scattered all over the world keeping someone warm.
Marion lived at Riverwood Village the last 5 years and so enjoyed the friendships she made there.
Preceding her in death was her son, Charlie, in June of 1958; husband, Russ, in December of 1978; brothers Einar (Shirley), Wes and Bill; and sister Doris (Larry) Stuvland.
She leaves her daughter Susan (Dan) Bequeaith; grandchildren Matt Bequeaith, Eric (Kelly) Bequeaith and April (Marc) Johnson; great-granddaughter Presley Rose Johnson; sister Shirley (Ray) Zarariasen; sisters-in-law Dottie Fjeldheim, Diane Fjeldheim, Doris Erickson, Edyth Haluska, Franny Smalley; brother-in-law Gene (Donna) Erickson. Many nieces, nephews and friends will miss her; we all have enjoyed her sense of humor and buoyant spirit. We Praise and Thank God for a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend!
