Obituary of Ethel Ostrom

Ethel Karin (Pearson) Ostrom, 88, of Cambridge, MN, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2013 at Grace Point Crossings surrounded by loving family. Ethel was born to Louis Alfred Pearson and Anna Matilda Eckman Lindquist, August 16, 1925 in Minneapolis. She was married to Wilfred R. Ostrom on November 7, 1943 in Minneapolis. Together with Wilfred they raised a family and farmed southwest of Cambridge. Ethel worked for several years at Control Data and made many longtime friends. For many years she enjoyed volunteering at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels for Cambridge Lutheran, where she was a long time member. Ethel is survived by her three children, Sheryle Chubb of Minnetonka, Sandra (Claire) Stolee of Andover, David (Janice) Ostrom of Independence, MO; her eight grandchildren Lisa Chubb of Minneapolis, Elizabeth (Michael) Greywitt of Richfield, Jason (Lois) Stolee of Auburn, WA, Ryan Stolee of Key Largo, FL, Dawn Stolee of Minneapolis, Jessica (Timothy) Wilson of Zionsville, IN, Nicole (David) Hilgenberg of St. Joseph, MO, Melissa (Thomas) DeSimone of Independence, MO; her one sister Edith Montbriand; her great-grandchildren Caleb, Malachi, Eviana Stolee; Allen, Jonathan, Benjamin Wilson; Ronen, Arianna Hilgenberg; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other family and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna Pearson; husband Wilfred Ostrom in 1987; as well as eight siblings. She enjoyed traveling, walking, birds, her dog and times with friends and relatives. Her greatest joy came from being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family of Ethel Ostrom is sincerely grateful for the loving care and support provided by the staff at River Hills, GracePointe and Allina Hospice Care.
