Obituary of Violet Berglund

Violet Lucille Berglund, 97, of Cambridge died on May 12, 2014 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge. Violet was born on June 21, 1916 in Fish Lake Township in Chisago Country to Emil and Sophie (Erickson) Johnson. She grew up on the family farm. On May 11, 1940 Violet was united in marriage to Alan Berglund in Cambridge on May 11, 1940. They resided in Cambridge all of their lives. Together they raised five children, Barbara, Patrisha, David, Steven, and Alan. Violet worked in housekeeping at the Cambridge State Hospital for many years and retired from there. She was a long-time member of Cambridge Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and also took pride in helping the Cub Scouts with their crafting projects. She was preceded in death by husband Alan, daughter Barbara Dale, granddaughter Keri Berglund, and great grandson, Jack Paulson. Violet is survived by daughter Patrisha (Al) Fischer of Elk River, sons David (Barbara) Berglund of Andover, Steven (Madeline) Berglund of Zimmerman, and Alan (Judy) Berglund of Cambridge, son-in-law Jerry Dale of Fifty Lakes, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
