Obituary of Eva Johnson

Eva G. Johnson, 83, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. She was born March 28, 1928 in Nelson, Buffalo County, Wisconsin to Thomas and Mathilda (Eide) Moore. Eva grew up in Nelson and attended school there. After her schooling she worked at a few different jobs. On August 29, 1955 she was united in marriage to Norbert Johnson at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Austin, MN where Eve worked at Stevenson's Department Store. They would later move to Faribault and Eve worked at a department store while Norbert worked at the State Hospital. In 1963 they moved to Cambridge and Eve would begin working at Control Data where she worked until she and Norbert adopted their daughter Julie in 1971. Eve later would volunteer at the Cambridge Medical Center in the gift shop for a number of years which she thoroughly enjoyed. Eva was a longtime member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church where she was involved in WELCA, ladies circles and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Red Hatters, enjoyed golfing, bowling, singing, dancing and went on several trips throughout the world over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert in November 2004, six brothers and three sisters. Eve is survived by her daughter Julie Johnson of Cambridge, sisters Doris Tindal of Washington, DC, Gin and husband Donald Wiegand of Manitowoc, WI, brother Robert Moore of Newport News, VA, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
