Obituary of Scott Koester

Scott Koester, 52, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. Scott Bradley Jerome Koester was born on December 18, 1961 in Princeton, Minnesota to Jerome and Mary (Laxen) Koester. He attended school in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980. Following high school he moved to St. Paul. Later he and a friend, Diane would travel across the United States working several different jobs and cooking at various restaurants. In 1992 he returned to Minnesota and began cooking at Pine Brook, which is where he met Veronica Stake. On Mother's Day 1994 he and Veronica made a commitment to their relationship and they have been together ever since. Scott began working at Plastech Corporation in Rush City in 2001 and has been working there since that time. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing and vacationing with Veronica. He was a life member of the North America Fishing Club. Scott was preceded in death by his father Jerome. He is survived by his spouse Veronica Stake of Cambridge, children Jessica Smiley (Joe Jones), David Smiley, grandchildren Nathan, Josaphine, Hunter and Jayden, mother Mary Koester of Princeton, brother Kurt Koester of Cambridge, nephew Jacob Koester and niece Megan Koester.
