Obituary of Karen West
Karen Ann West from Cambridge passed away peacefully at her home in Ramsey on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the age of 66.
She was born on June 16, 1945 in Patuxent River, Maryland to Kenneth F. and Frances J. (Johnson) Sperry. Karen spent her childhood years in Norfolk, Virginia where her dad was stationed in the Navy. In 1959, the family returned to the Cambridge-Isanti area and Karen graduated from Cambridge High School in 1963 and shortly after was married to Kenneth G. West. They were blessed with three children.
Karen was an active member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church and served as President of Aglow in Isanti. She worked as a nurse at Grandview Christian Home, providing care and companionship for its residents for over 16 years.
She lived her life to the fullest, a dedicated mother, a loving grandmother, wonderful sister, aunt and friend to many. Karen loved to entertain, play cards and games, fish, camp, and enjoy the sunshine. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, warm heart, and for all the wonderful memories. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her three children Troy and wife Kristen West of Lake Elmo, Thomas and wife Tami West of Ramsey, Laura Leet of Isanti, three grandchildren Hunter, Carter and Sydney West, mother Frances Sperry of Cambridge, sister Donna and husband Ron Anderson of Cambridge, former husband Kenny (Barb) West of Spicer, as well as other relatives and friends.
