Hey, "Old Guy!" It is much too soon for you to go. At least to leave us. But your faith has always been strong, and we know that you are in a better place -- a place where all of us will go some day. I have a flood of memories, back to the days at Gustavus and the times in St. Peter, MN; the times that you came to visit at Lou and Sandy's in Roscoe, IL; the times with you and Karen at Lake Carlos (or was it Lake Ida?); and the times you shared with all your wonderful, wonderful stories!!! Peace to your family, and to all your many, many friends who are still here. --Christian love, A.John.

Dave was a very special person to all of us at the Sheriff's Office. He was always there when we needed him, and helped us through a lot of tough things. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. God Bless you Karen, Matt and Steven!

When Pastor Dave heard about my upcoming ordination in 2010 he said, "Someone from Cambridge Lutheran needs to go to the service." He and his wife graciously made the 10 - 12 hour trip to Michigan. What a wonderful and meaningful surprise to have a pastor from my hometown church lay hands on me at my ordination. He was such a kind and thoughtful man. He will be dearly missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor David on many occasions in and around Mora and admired his positive attitude, sincere smile and firm hand shake. He was the perfect person for his vocation, admired, respected and loved by many. We will miss his presence on Earth, but rejoice to know he is with his Savior in Heaven.

Karen: Our deepest condolences to you and your family. I will always be grateful for Dave's words of inspiration and love; his wisdom and wise counsel; answers/guidance on the numerous times I had questions and concerns. I remember one of his first sermons at CLC, it brought flowing tears to Steve and I and we were unable to leave worship after the service - until he spoke with us. He was a faithful and wise servant to all in this community and we take comfort in knowing he is in joyful service and praise with his father in heaven.

I first met Pastor Dave in the 1990's when he was in Mora. He touched many of my family and friends lives through his ministry in Malmo, Mora and Cambridge. When I was a child my family went to the Covenant Church in Mankato. It was when Dave was working at the Mankato radio station right down the road. Dave talked to me about working when the church blew up and flatten in a gas leak and even had a conversation with my _90 yr old father, a church deacon at the time of tragedy when he joined us at church one Sunday morning. David was a wonderful student of the bible & its application in daily life.
