Obituary of Lawrence Smieja

Smieja, Lawrence P, "Larry" age 76 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully with his significant other by his side on November 22, 2014. Larry was born and raised in Minnetonka, MN. He joined the Air Force right out of high school. He served for 8 years based in England. Upon his honorable discharge, Larry returned to Minnesota. He worked at Control Data in Cambridge and then went on to purchase Sports Spot sporting goods store and also became a Realtor or until 2003. Larry was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Purple Hawk Golf Course. When not golfing he was a member of the Hawk's ground crew. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Lois, parents Lawrence R. and Agnes. He is survived by his significant other Sally Dahl; sons Lance (Deb) and Leigh; daughter Lynne Smieja. Grandfather of: Nick and Kira Smieja. Also survived by his sister Marlys Leon; brothers Gary (Sharon) and Gale (Suzie) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Per Larry's request no services will be held. His cremated remains will be buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca this spring.
