Obituary of Esther Swanson

Esther Forslund Swanson, 99 years old, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Haven House in Cambridge. She was born February 1, 1915 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Esther grew up in the Stark area where she attended Country School. She married LaVon Swanson on March 6, 1938, and they were married for 50 years and had three children, Janice, Jim, and Dean. The family farmed until they moved to Cambridge in 1955. Until she retired, Esther worked at Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a surgical technician. Esther was devoted to her family, friends, and was ready to help everyone. Esther is survived by her daughter Janice (Don) Van Sickle, son James (LaDonna) Swanson, daughter-in-law Lynne Swanson, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law as well as nephews, nieces, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband LaVon Swanson, son Dean Swanson, grandson Ron Van Sickle, granddaughter-in-law Roxanne Van Sickle, parents John and Agnes Carlson, sister Lillian Anderson, and brother John Carlson.
