Obituary of Joan Rycoitch

Joan Barbara Rycoitch, 70, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. She was born April 19, 1941 in Queens, New York to Rudolph and Catherine (Blackmore) Balvin. Joan grew up in the Long Island area of New York and attended Rocky Point School. Over the years while in New York she worked various different jobs and raised her daughter Michele. About fifteen years ago she moved to Cambridge, Minnesota to be near her daughter. While in Cambridge she lived at Bridge Park Apartments and worked at Industries Incorporated. More recently she lived at the Villas in Mora and GracePointe Crossing Gables East. Joan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, swimming, drawing, and other artwork. She attended Christ The King Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, special friend John Kean, brother Frank and sister Mary. Joan is survived by her daughter Michele and husband Greg Carlos of Braham, sister Katherine Simmons of Long Island, New York, as well as other relatives and friends.
