Obituary of Maurice Thunstrom

Maurice T. Thunstrom, 90, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Grace Pointe Crossing �" Grandview. Maurice was born in Isanti County, Minnesota on November 10, 1917 to Theodore and Lena (Norling) Thunstrom. His mother passed away when Maurice was five. Life as a child was difficult; as he grew older Maurice was able to work and helped on many farms for a place to stay. He completed grade five. On January 13, 1940 he was united in marriage to Beatrice Eastlund. Most of their married life they lived in Isanti County. In 1947 they purchased a farm east of Isanti. Besides farming, he worked as a machinist at FMC, formerly known as Northern Pump. Maurice loved farming and was an excellent fix it guy. If he couldn't find a part he would make it. Due to health reasons they sold the farm in 1981 and moved to Cambridge. As a Christian person he was faithful in serving his church as a Trustee and Usher. In retirement he enjoyed taking many trips, especially going to Saskatchewan, Canada to visit his relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, parents and sister Doris He is survived by sons Harlow and wife Gladys Thunstrom of Brooklyn Center, David and wife Beverly Thunstrom of Reading, PA, daughter Paulette and husband Bob Johnson of Cambridge, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, as well as many friends and relatives.
