Obituary of James Reine

James Neil Reine, 72, passed away October 22, 2008 in his home in International Falls. Jim was born September 6, 1936 to Verner and Gladys Reine, in Cambridge, Minnesota. He graduated from Cambridge High School. He served with the United States Army in Germany from 1954 to 1957. He married Shirley Gusman on June 24, 1961 in Bloomington, MN. They later divorced. Jim went to Brown Institute and became one of the early computer programmers. Jim worked for Control Data and the State of Minnesota before working for the State of Alaska. He retired in 1983, and spent the next years in Wirt, Minnesota, Cambridge, MN and moved to International Falls, MN in 2001. Jim had a special spot in his heart for children, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved being out in nature—especially around the campfire telling ghost stories to the kids. He liked to fish and wrote a book of Haiku. He will be sadly missed by his son Robert (Sharri) Reine, his daughter, Robyn Stewart, his grandchildren Madison and Benjamin Reine, Rayanna Reine, Logan and Elliott Stewart, his brother Kenneth (Sandra) Reine, brother Marshall (Jeanne) Dahlin and all his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathryn.
