Obituary of Clark Dahlin

Clark Stuart Dahlin, 68, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Unity Hospital in Fridley. He was born on December 8, 1940 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Winfred and Fern (Strike) Dahlin. He grew up in Cambridge, attending grade school in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1958. Soon after graduating he entered the United States Navy, after serving a few years he was honorably discharged. Clark worked at Honeywell, Great North Trading Post and also Larson's Cycle. On May 19, 1962 he was united in marriage to Joan Swedeen at the Wyanett Evangelical Free Church. They first lived in Cambridge before buying a home in Springvale in 1967, where they have since lived. Clark worked for United Power (Great River Energy), and Northern Natural Gas from which he retired in 1999. Even after retiring he continued to work for them in the summers as a consultant. Clark enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and spending time with his grandchildren. In 1966 he and Jim Langley went on a coast to coast snowmobile ride. They were the first ones to ever do that, and no one has done it since then in a faster time, they were featured in Sports Illustrated and Snow Goer magazines. He was a member of trapshooting clubs. He and Joan did some traveling in the United States making several trips to Branson, Colorado and Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife Joan of Cambridge, son Clifton Dahlin of Cambridge, son Troy and wife Gwen Dahlin and their children Lindsay Hansen, Mitchell Hansen, Samuel Dahlin, son Jason and wife Tricia Dahlin and their children Jacob, Garrett and Grace Dahlin, sister Patricia and husband James Jordan of Tomah, WI, mother-in-law Ardis Swedeen of Cambridge, as well as several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
