Obituary of Emelia Westberg

(Emily) Emelia E. Westberg, 97, of rural Cambridge, MN went to be with the Lord Saturday February 7, 2009 at the Margaret Parmly Residence in Chisago City, MN. Emily was born September 28, 1911 in rural Lonsdale, MN the daughter of Frank and Anna (Cervenka) Kalina. She attended country school and worked for many years in Minneapolis. She married Walfred Westberg on February 14, 1942 at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo, MN. In March of 1945 Walfred and Emily settled in rural Cambridge, MN, raised three children, and started farming. Emily also worked for the Minnesota State School in Cambridge, MN for many years. Emily was very involved in the church. She is survived by two loving children Julie (John) Kyrola of Forest Lake, MN and James (Boni) Westberg of Willernie, MN; 1 son-in-law Terry Pedi of Ronan, MT; 8 grandchildren, Joel (Sarah) Kyrola, Jerilyn Richard, Melinda (Paul) Fierro, Janet (Mark) Nessa, Jennifer Westberg, Jay (Rachel) Kyrola, Ross and Seth Pedi, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Martha Westberg of Northfield, MN and Anne Vranek of Faribault, MN; 1 brother-in-law Irving Carlson of Cambridge, MN and 1 sister-in-law Madelyn Hanson of Shoreview, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 8 siblings, and 1 daughter, Linda Pedi. A Special Thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Margaret Parmly Residence.
