Obituary of Lauraine Coffin
Lauraine Margaret Coffin, 75, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Shady Oaks Assisted Living near Isanti.
She was born on January 25, 1934 in Springvale Township, Minnesota to Conrad and Cecilia (Ferrell) Reineccius. Lauraine attended the Liberty Country School in Springvale and went on to graduate from
Cambridge High School in 1952.
On March 27, 1952 she was united in marriage to Wallace Coffin at Oxlip Church. The couple lived in Bradford then moved to Minneapolis where they lived a short time before moving to Oxlip. After being in Oxlip for a few years, they bought the Reineccius family home where Lauraine was born and they raised their children there. After the children were older, she worked for some time at Control Data in Cambridge and also the Cambridge State Hospital.
Lauraine enjoyed walking, reading, and was known for having summer garage sales at her home. She loved going on the Senior Citizen Bus Tours throughout Minnesota. She liked to care for her grandchildren
and raised her grandson Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Kenneth, sisters Leona Shulstad, Lucille Kehn, LuVerne Sandstrom, Lula Petersen, and Laura Walker, brothers Robert, Raymond and Russell Reineccius.
Lauraine is survived by her children Michael and wife Cindy Coffin of Brook Park, Douglas and wife Cindy Coffin of Ellsworth, WI, Alan and wife Janet Coffin of Cambridge, Wendy Coffin of Pine City, Pamela and husband Ken Flaten of Eden Prairie, James Coffin of Fayetteville, NC, 13 grandchildren Keri (Jim) Johnson, Cassandra Coffin, Angela (Shawn) Gerhardson, Anthony (Emily) Coffin, Lucas Coffin, Meggan Coffin, Jeremy Coffin, Chris Flaten, James Coffin, Calvin Coffin, John Coffin, Ravi (Jessica) Hanson and Dena Hanson, nine great grandchildren, Brent, Katie, Riley, Caiden, Abby, Jiselle, Chase, Brodie and Kamron, brothers Royal "Ted" and wife Kathryn Reineccius of Princeton, Richard Reineccius of San Francisco, sisters Luella Lee of Cambridge, Lillian Wetther of Cambridge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
