Obituary of Geraldine Wenger
Geraldine Alice Wenger, 76, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at her son's home in St. Francis.
Geri was born on June 4, 1932 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Fred and Alice (Carlson) Meissner. She graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School in 1951.
She married Robert Wenger on July 31, 1954. They started out their married life in St. Paul and later moved to Richfield, then rural Cambridge, MN. Her primary occupation was homemaker but also worked at the Cambridge State Hospital and East Central Regional Library. She often told stories of years as the Bookmobile Librarian, going to small towns in the region and the Sandstone prison. In addition to lovingly caring for her four children, she cared for her father-in-law, her husband and her mother at the end of their lives. Her strength, confidence and love will be missed by her family and friends
Geri is survived by her son Bob Wenger of St. Francis, daughters Lori Zins of Cedar, Jayne and husband Skip Schaeffer of Golden, Colorado, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Chuck and wife Diane Meissner of Englewood, Florida, sister Joan and husband Jim Lenz of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Denise Fokken, and sisters Marge Grausnick and Marilyn Zapf.
