Obituary of Dean Goetze

Dean Goetze, 83, of Cambridge went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Dean was born in Braham, MN, on June 28, 1925 to Edwin and Cecelia (Adamson) Goetze. He graduated from Braham High School in 1943. He attended Braham Mission Covenant Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He also went to Northwestern College for a couple of years. On June 26, 1948 he was united in marriage to Doloris Seaborg in Duluth, MN. He served several churches as pastor over the years. He also substituted at churches where needed. Until recently he spoke once a month at two local nursing homes. He always tried to help out when there was a need. He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Cecelia, brother Gordon, son David and great-grandson Micah. Dean is survived by his wife, Doloris; children Joan (Chuck) Rivers of Andover, Jerry (Mary) Goetze of Columbia Heights, Janice Goetze of Coon Rapids and Jon (Michelle) Goetze of Minneapolis; grandchildren Jennifer Rivers, Jared (Jessica) Rivers, Amanda Colacicco, Karissa (Gabe) Keenan, Stacy (Brian) Blomquist, Kimberly (Ross) Nelson, Kristina Goetze and Tom Goetze; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sister Cecil (Ethel) Cassens of Mitchell, SD, Jim Goetze of Eden Prairie, MN and Nancy (George) Scheer of Punta Gorda, FL; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Dean loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time together. Most of all he loved the Lord and lived his life for Him. Even though he will be missed terribly we are happy that he is in heaven and we will see him again some day.
