Obituary of Duane Daudt

Duane Ernest Daudt, 69, of Zimmerman passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Unity Hospital in Fridley. He was born July 10, 1939 in Spencer Brook Township, Minnesota to Ernest and Evelyn (Kreager) Daudt. Duane grew up in Spencer Brook, attending the Chapman Country School and Crown Christian Day School. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957. After graduating, Duane helped his father run the family farm and did so for many years until his father passed away. Duane remained on the home farm until last June when he went to live with his sister in Spring Lake Park. Duane was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Crown and attended the men's study group on Wednesdays. He enjoyed playing cards, doing word find puzzles, fishing, visiting neighbors, his vegetable garden, and caring for his apple trees. Duane started the Crown Brook Vegetable Farm and sold much of his produce to local grocery stores and restaurants. He also had an interest in politics as well as listening and watching the Minnesota Twins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Elwin. Duane is survived by his sister Geraldine Waytashek of Spring Lake Park, niece Debbie Waytashek and husband Tom Jones of Spring Lake Park, nephews Dean Waytashek and fiancée Jackie Hallberg of Brooklyn Center, and John Daudt of Princeton, as well a two great nieces, one great niece, several cousins other relatives and friends.
