Obituary of James Anderson
James G. (Jim) Anderson, 78, of Cambridge died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital due to complications of lupus.
Jim was born July 26, 1930 to Harry and Gertrude (Simonson) Anderson in Duluth, MN along with his twin brother John. He attended Ensign Elementary, Denfeld High and Dunwoody Institute. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Jim worked in the auto parts business in Duluth, Minneapolis and Cambridge until his retirement.
Jim married Vernis Stoeckman on April 7, 1956. They were married for 53 years, living in Fridley and moving to Cambridge in 1976. They had two children, Julie born 1962 and Jamie 1964. Jim was an active member of Cambridge Lutheran Church, serving on the council and various groups. He was a long time member of the Cambridge Lions Club.
Jim loved to hunt and fish and walk in the woods. He spent many happy hours up the Gunflint Trail and into Canada. After retirement Jim and Vernis traveled in a RV through most of the states and three trips to Alaska. He loved having grandchildren and his dog Molly.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Vernis of Cambridge, daughter Julie and husband Glenn Keifer of Rosholt, SD, son Jamie and wife April Anderson of Pocatello, ID, grandchildren Megan and Samantha Keifer, Bodie and Colton Anderson, brother John Anderson of Eden Prairie, as well as other relatives and friends.
