Obituary of Donald Jorgenson

Donald H. Jorgenson, 90, of Cambridge died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Carsten's Harbour He was born April 11, 1919 with twin brother Eugene to Henry and Ann Jorgenson in Superior Wisconsin. The family moved to Minneapolis, MN a year later. Don graduated North High School in Minneapolis in 1938. After graduation he worked for Henry P Boos Dental Lab in Minneapolis as a Dental Technician. He was drafted into the US Army in June of 1941 and was in the US Coast Artillery before being transferred to the Army Dental Corps as a dental assistant. Don was stationed mostly in the US and later was sent to Japan. He was honorably discharged in January 1946. After serving in the Army he returned to work at Boos Laboratories where he met his future wife Lucille Woodcock. They were married in September 1950 and had 4 children. After getting married Don went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Minneapolis for 31 years. They moved to rural Stanchfield in the summer of 1972 on Rush Lake and later to Cambridge, MN. Prior to moving to Stanchfield Don was a long time member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church in Minneapolis and the Stanchfield Baptist Church in Stanchfield, MN. He lived the last few months at Carstens Harbour in Cambridge. He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Ann, his twin brother Eugene, several aunts, uncles and daughter in law Mary Jo. Don is survived by Wife Lucille of Cambridge, sons David (Beth) Jorgenson of Maple Grove, Gary (Kathi) Jorgenson of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rob(Ann) Jorgenson of Princeton, and daughter Debra (Steve) Campbell of Braham, 11 Grandchildren; Mike, Stephanie, Dan, Jennie, Brian, Kyle, Patrick, Steven, Jessica, Dustin, Sarah, Great Grandchildren Evan, and Kenley, Sister in law Margaret Jorgenson, niece Elaine and nephews Bill and Jim, as well as other relatives and friends.
