Obituary of Ruth Allemang

Ruth B. Allemang, 94, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. She was born March 30, 1915 in Rio, Wisconsin to John and Netta (Hokenstad) Anderson and grew up in Wisconsin. On August 21, 1936 she was united in marriage to Wayne Allemang at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison, WI. The couple bought a home in Madison and it was there that their first two children Robert and Jacklyn were born. In 1949 the family moved to Mondovi, WI where Wayne became the administrator for the Gillette Clinic & Hospital. Their third child Renee was born while in Mondovi. In 1958 the family moved to Eau Claire, WI and in 1959 to Whitehall, WI where Wayne was the hospital administrator. In 1967 they moved to Cambridge, MN where he became the hospital administrator. In 1989 they moved to Pine Village and Wayne passed away in 1990. Ruth enjoyed fishing, camping and loved all outdoor activities. She enjoyed golfing and bowling and played in several leagues over the years. She was a longtime member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church, was a member of the Cambridge Hospital Women's Auxiliary and volunteered at the hospital as well. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, her parents, husband Wayne, son Robert in 1999, sisters Alva, Annabelle, brothers Gordon and Arnie. She is survived by two daughters Jacklyn and husband John Allen of Bella Vista, AR, Renee and husband Raymond McDonald of Cambridge, daughter-in-law Sharon Allemang of Eau Claire, WI, six grandchildren, Michael Allemang of Wausau, WI, Tia Leinfelder of Lacrosse, WI, Todd (Nicole) Allen of Robbinsdale, Jon (Ellie) Allen of Elkhart Lake, WI, Michelle (David) Seidler of Kailua, HI, Marne (Ray) Valeros of San Diego, six great grandchildren, Christopher and Sophie Leinfelder, Deacon and William Allen, Cory Seidler and Jordan Massey as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
