Obituary of Herbert Beach

Herbert L. Beach, 81, of Cambridge, formerly of St. Francis passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. He was born On October 27, 1927 in Minnetonka Township, Minnesota to Glenn and Elisa (Hanson) Beach. Herb was raised in the Bethel/St. Francis area. He lived with his folks and brother Gerald on their 80 acre farm while he worked for the Soo Line Railroad in Minneapolis from which he retired after 37 years. Herb loved hunting, operating his ham radio and visiting with friends and relatives. In 2005 he was chosen as Anoka County Outstanding Conservationist of the year for donating a permanent conservation easement on 65 acres of his property in St. Francis to the Minnesota Land Trust, ensuring his property would never be developed and the natural resource qualities of the property would remain in perpetuity. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gerald "Ike" Beach. He is survived by cousins and friends. Special thanks to all who cared for Herb especially his friends at Riverwood Village. He will be dearly missed by all.
