Obituary of Marvin Noren
Marvin M. Noren, 90 of Cambridge, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing East of Cambridge.
He was born February 26, 1919 at his home in Isanti, MN to Mat and Jennie (Olson) Noren. On October 7, 1939 he was united in marriage to Mertie Swenson. To this union two children were born; Joan and Larry. Mertie and Marvin lived in Isanti and farmed until 1956 when they moved to Cambridge.
Marvin was employed at Pioneer Engineering as a crane operator and retired from there after 30 years.
Marvin accepted Jesus Christ as his savior early in his life. He was an active member at South Isanti Baptist Church, serving as trustee, deacon, and treasurer. He was always willing to help. Marvin spent many hours visiting elderly at Grandview and other nursing homes, he also visited shut-in's. He always thought of others first. Marvin thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his son; Larry. He loved traveling and camping and visited Sweden twice and enjoyed speaking in Swedish. Later in life he started to play golf and enjoyed playing with family. He was very active; playing a lot of softball and horse shoe. Family was very important to him, he especially loved being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; Mat and Jennie, his wife; Mertie; brothers Chester, Lawrence and Earl, sisters Margaret and Marie. He is survived by daughter Joan and husband Roger Bostrom of Isanti, son Larry and wife Marie Noren of Rush City, granddaughters Roxanne and husband Jeff Mellin, Rhonda and husband Mike Englund, Romona and husband David Bridges, Tammy and husband David Downing, Terry and husband Wayne Rumple, great grandchildren Lee Mellin, Melissa Stahnke, Jessica and Kristina Englund, Anna and Brian Downing, as well as many other relatives and friends.
