Obituary of Vernon Godeen

Vernon Edward Godeen, 87, of Fridley passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Anoka Care Center. He was born on November 4, 1922 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Andrew and Anna (Lundin) Godeen. He grew up in the Dalbo area where he attended the Karmel Country School. On July 1, 1944 he was united in marriage to Shirley Davis and they lived in Minneapolis until 1955 when they made their home in Fridley and raised their four children. Vernon worked at Honeywell and retired from there after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his boys. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley in 1985, brother Robert and sisters Evelyn Lindgren and Elvera Leaf. Vernon is survived by his children Ron and wife Karen Godeen of Andover, Robert and wife Ginny Godeen of Princeton, Joy and husband Mike Robertson of Andover, Rich and wife Sue Godeen of Andover, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Violet Wallin of Bradford, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
