May the Almighty be kind to Bob's family and allow his memory to be known by all who love home and family. Even being far away from each other geographically, when we got together it was as if he never left and we were always at home. God has a special place for my friend. God Bless all and hold this truly good man in his hands.

Sharon,Bob was a great friend and will be sadly missed. I will remember the good times we had growing up together, playing football in high school. And even thou we lived miles apart, I always looked forward to getting together at the "Goose Festival" in Middle River, Reminiscing about the past and catching up on the years activities. Bob had so many stories to share.I am thankful that Betty and I got to spend time with you and Bobby this past month. You have a great, close-knit family and this will help get you through the rough times. The times we shared and the memories will live on forever.

Bob was a true friend. "Old Man" canoe trips or just hanging around the Prickett's, Bob gave me the opportunity to imaging what having an older brother might have been like. Word of his passing saddens us until we start telling our stories. Then we all light up. Warm thanks to Sharon and the kids for giving us the opportunity to gather Friday for the memorial. Best yet!

I enjoyed teaching with Bob for many years in St. Francis. We spent time together teaching in the elementary school as well as frequently seeing him as a substitute teacher with me in the middle school. Bob was always a philosopher at heart. Some of his profound thoughts made quite an impression on me. He would say, "Dare to be mediocre! Remember, a mediocre man is always at his best!". He had a wisdom that was lost on many. When we would discuss the educational issues of the day, Bob had a simple eloquence about dealing with problems. When it came to budget cuts, he had a simple but effective solution. Bob said look at the positions on the staff that don't require a substitute if they are gone. Those positions should be at the top of the cut list. How true! Bob had a way of seeing humor in some not so humorous situations. There were times when faculty meetings at the elementary school seemed to go on for a very long time discussing issues that really weren't all that important. Bob would say... well, I don't think we've quite settled the debate yet... it may go on for much longer... the question is: when children put their snow boots in their lockers, should they put them in toes facing in, or toes facing out? I will miss his wit and wisdom.

Sharon and family. I am saddened at the passing of Bob. I enjoyed my years of working with him at Bar None and our group of friends who daily celebrated life. I always tell friends and acquaintences of my old friend at Bar None who was the last one wearing shorts when the weather got cold. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just when we could look forward to a 50th reunion next year the message of Bobby's passing away is really tragic. But mostly to those close to him. I will always remember all the good time we had together as seniors, Bobby's visit to me in Denmark while Penny also was here in 1963 and a visit to Eagan in 1976 which is the last time I saw Bobby. He will be missed a lot, but leaves good memories among many. Elisabeth - classmate 59/60

I remember Bob with us at EVERY track and cross country meet, even the away ones. In addition to being there for his kids, I always felt like my experience was also enriched thanks to Bob. He was fun and inspiring to talk to and set the bar for the rest of when we were young for being there as a Dad. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I didn't know Bobby as an 'adult'. I shared his childhood in Middle River - 5th through 12 grades. I only saw him a handful of times after that at class reunions. Thinking back I came to the understanding that Bobby was really the 'heart & soul' of our class. I don't remember one student, teacher, or parent who didin't like Bobby. We re-connected through e-mail for the last two and a half years and for that I am thankful. My sympathy to Sharon, his daughters, his brother Jerry and Connie and their family, and all those wonderful grandchildren he wrote about and sent pictures of in numerous e-mails.

I will miss Bob very much, especially having coffee or lunch with him. He taught me how to laugh at things and to keep life simple. I'll never forget the day he took, me, Gary Palmquist and Mark Linder down the river in his boat to the casino (What a blast)

I met Robert when I was a young adult. Through numerous boundry waters trips, many " Old man's canoe opener" trips, and some valuable sauna time, I got to know Bob. He was one of the kindest and most gentle men I know. I learned so much from him about how to be a good person. He was truely a teacher to students of all ages. My deepest sympathies to Sharon, the Girls, and their families. He will be truely missed.

Bob and I met at Bar None and had many years of adventures; whitewater canoeing, cutting down forests, fishing and of course work …so many fun memories. He taught me to find the humor in circumstances and to laugh at myself. He always encouraged me to look at the bigger picture and it has been a lesson I used more than I ever imagined! I am grateful to have had Bob as a friend and will miss him, but not forget him or his lessons. Sharon and Family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Russ Goebel

Although I've grown up far from you, you have never felt like strangers due to hearing the stories that have come out of the friendship between Bobby and my Dad, Ed Ellefson. It is these types of stories, shared by many, that will celebrate Bobby's life and never let him be forgotten. May you find comfort in all the memories and shared stories. My thoughts are with you.

Sharon and family,Our deepest regrets to you.I will always appreciate Bob's dry sense of humor as well as his unique ability to share unusual facts and his unique view of life and society. To see his eyes light up when he would talk about Alaska and family was always a joy.The weekly bike jaunts ,by Bob,to the Farmer's Market to bring home fresh cut flowers was something I will miss seeing. We all cherish Bob's life and will dearly miss him.
