Obituary of Bennett Foote
Bennett Charles "Bud" Foote Jr., 69, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Cambridge Medical Center.
He was born June 1, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Bennett and Irene (Torell) Foote, Sr.. Bud grew up in Cambridge, attended country school and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1958. He enlisted in the Army Reserves served active duty in the Army until April 1959 and continued in the reserves until 1966.
On July 30, 1965 he was united in marriage to Patricia Erickson at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. He lived in Cambridge all his life where they raised their two daughters Kimberly and Tracy. Bud worked as an apprentice brick layer for several years in Minneapolis and later started his own construction business. He would go on to become a commercial general contractor and in 1988 started Cambridge Self Storage which he operated with his wife Pat.
Bud loved his family and spending time with them, they enjoyed many family vacations together to Florida with friends. Bud enjoyed listening to music, was an excellent water skier, and was one of the first in the area to master barefoot waterskiing. He enjoyed visiting with friends and was always a part of the men's coffee group at McDonald's. Bud was a kind, loving man that had a warm smile that touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Bud is survived by his wife Pat, daughters Kimberly and husband Thomas Hofstede, Tracy Foote and special friend Michael Thieling all of Cambridge, grandchildren Tyler Hofstede, Mitchell Hofstede, Lindsey Melland, Kylie Thieling, Daniel Thieling, Nicholas Thieling, Derek Thieling, sister Beverly and husband David Barbo of Kansas, brother Shannon and wife Patricia Foote of Stanchfield, sister Suzanne and husband Ronald Anderson of Cambridge, as well as several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
