Obituary of Rhoda Asperheim
Rhoda Jean Asperheim, 62, of Harris passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at North Memorial Medical Center.
She was born September 24, 1944 in Elgin, Illinois to Leonard and Inez (Hodgson) Skatrud. The family moved to Alcester, South Dakota where they lived a while before moving to Cambridge, MN. Rhoda went on to graduate from Cambridge High School in 1962.
On January 25, 1974 she was united in marriage to Roy Asperheim in St. Hilare, Minnesota. The ceremony was performed by Roy's childhood friend Rev. James Swanson. Rhoda and Roy made their home in New Hope where they raised their daughter. In 1986 they moved to Coon Rapids, they lived there until 1998 when they moved to Lino Lakes.
Rhoda began working at the H.B. Fuller Company in 1970 and retired from there in 2000 after 30 years. Roy also retired from his job as a structural engineer and in 2005 they moved to Melland Lake near Harris. Rhoda and Roy enjoyed traveling, taking several trips with other family members.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy in October 2006, and sister Rebecca Skatrud.
She is survived by her daughter Jenni and husband Dennis Thompson of Coon Rapids, grandson Connor Thompson, sisters Lana and husband Ralph Borchardt of Cambridge, Mary and husband Mike McLean of St. Paul, as well as other relatives and friends.
