Obituary of Max Bartelt
Max James Bartelt, 35, of Isanti died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 the result of an auto accident.
He was born January 22, 1975 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to James and Maggie (Mejia) Bartelt. He was baptized as an infant at St. Joseph's Church in Minneapolis. Max grew up in Isanti, attending grade school and graduating from Cambridge-Isanti High School in 1993. He went on to attend Hennepin Technical School to earn a degree in Graphic Design. He worked for some time at a few printing shops before moving on to construction work. He worked at RTL Construction for a time and also at Yerigan Construction before returning to RTL Construction where he was presently working.
On October 13, 1995 he was united in marriage to Tanya Graham at North Isanti Baptist Church. They made their home in the Cambridge-Isanti area where they were raising their four children.
Karate was a large part of Max's life and earned his black belt which he would have received the Saturday after his passing. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He also liked coon hunting, cat fishing and demolition derbies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Felicitas Mejia, Frank and Wilma Bartelt, mother-in-law Cindy Olson. Max is survived by his wife Tanya and four children Zachary, Alexis, Payton, and Colton, parents Jim and Maggie Bartelt of Isanti, sister Sandy and husband Tim Dahlgren of Isanti, father-in-law Robert Olson of Cambridge, brothers-in-law John Graham, Bjorn Olson, sister-in-law Angie Olson, nieces Cassie Stecker and Brandy Dahlgren, nephew Thomas Dahlgren, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles other relatives and friends.
