Obituary of Russell Larson
Russell Larson, 78, formerly of New Brighton passed away June 6, 2010 at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.
Russell George Larson was born December 21, 1931 in Grandy, Minnesota to Edna (Dahlin) and George Larson. Russell served in the Army during the Koreon war. He lived most of his adult life in New Brighton with his wife Lois (Sullivan) and their 4 children, Scott, Wendy, Kathy and Mark. After retiring from Honeywell Corporation after 35 years of service he moved to Sun City, Arizona were he spent 14 years enjoying the sunshine and warmth with his special friend Rita Klis. Retirement did not slow him down and he fulfilled a lifetime dream when he took flying lessons and earned his private pilots license.
A long time Laurel and Hardy fan, Russell enjoyed belonging to the Sons of the Desert BlockHeads tent in New Brighton, MN. Watching Laurel and Hardy films always brought a smile and laughter to Russell and those around him.
Russell was an avid gardener while living in Minnesota. He was known for his beautiful Iris and Rose gardens. Summers he enjoyed going to airshows in Wisconsin and the "Old Car Run" at the Stockyard Days in New Brighton.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care given to Russell at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, MN by his "guardian angels". Their caring and compassionate hearts were appreciated by Russell's family.
Russell is preceded in death by his wife Lois (Sullivan). He is survived by his children Scott, Wendy, Kathy, Mark and his special friend Rita.
