Obituary of Sharon Olson
In loving memory of Sharon Joy Olson, born to her father Mark and mother Hilma Bradshaw who delivered her in Bock, Minnesota in the township of Borgholm on Sunday, December 8, 1940. Sharon's delivery was assisted by a sister-in-law on her parents' farm.
Sharon passed away peacefully at home in the company of her husband and children on November 24, 2006 at the age of 65 years 11 months and 15 days.
Sharon united with Darwin Benjamin Olson in Holy matrimony on December 16, 1960. Together they raised three children. Their first home of 10 years was in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1977 they moved to Cambridge. Sharon had four careers; she began as a waitress at a Chinese restaurant and a line supervisor at Action labs in Minneapolis. Sharon became a stay-at-home Mom with outstanding homemaking skills.
When the kids were all grown, Sharon began working at Cambridge State Hospital's laundry. She worked there until the place closed their doors and she then began working at Cambridge Christian Home's laundry until she retired in the 90's.
Sharon had many hobbies, for many years, she cared for her vegetable garden, flowers and lawn on her hobby farm. Sharon loved cooking and collected many things like recipes, recipe books, Fiesta ware and Depression glass "Rose of Sharon".
Sharon leaves behind her loving husband of 45 years, Darwin Olson; her children; Sharna, Danette, and Darla; her son-in-laws; Ed Jabs, Carl Knox, and Jacob Sandquist; her adoring grandchildren; JoEllen and Emily Jabs, James Horning, Cienna and Kira Sandquist; her sisters; Marlene Byrne and Carol Bradshaw, Brothers; Mark, Archie and Jack Bradshaw; her brother and sister-in-laws; Hugh Byrne, Georgia Bradshaw; and Char Bradshaw; and many many more relatives.
Everyone who knew and loved Sharon will miss her and remember her until the day we all meet again.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, December 1, 2006 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge with Rev. Richard Stenholtz officiating. The organist will be Elaine Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Bradshaw, Archie Bradshaw, Jack Bradshaw, Ed Jabs, Carl Knox and Jacob Sandquist. Interment will be in the Borgholm Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers
