Obituary of William Fluguear

William R. Fluguear, 70, of Frazee, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Merit Care in Fargo, North Dakota. William (Bill) Roger Fluguear, born October 17, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN to Matthew and Jennie. He attended Catholic school before moving to a farm outside of Isanti, MN. Bill played basketball in school and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957. He went on to serve in the Air Force and was honorably discharged as Airman 2nd Class. Bill then went on to work as a Crane Operator for Pre-Stress in Anoka, where on a blind date met Carol Ann Aamold. It was love at first sight and they were soon married on June 21, 1968. Bill inherited (3) boys in the deal and moved the family back to Cambridge. He then went to work for D&D Anderson Plumbing for a small period of time before landing a job as a fleet mechanic with Northrup King in Northeast Minneapolis. During his time at NK, Bill extended his education at the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He carpooled to NK with a group of guys from the St. Francis area for more than 15+ years before the plant relocated to Tennessee. He then moved forward to Motek Engineering in Cambridge as a machinist, where he remained until his retirement in 1999. Retirement was so good that his wife, Carol, thought to give it a try and left her position at the Star News of Cambridge in September of 2000. They jumped in the motor home and traveled around until settling in the Georgetown area of Texas. They spent their winters in TX and summers on Rose Lake outside of Frazee. Throughout Bill's life he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, casinos, bowling, hunting, but most of all his family. His love for country music spilled over to his Omni-chord which he loved to play for anyone that would listen. He was also an avid reader of westerns, sometimes reading two a day. Bill was an active member of the Cambridge American Legion Post #290. His sense of humor and Bloody Mary's made him the talk of the town. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian Aamold, and brother Jerry. Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol, his sons Barry (Julie) of Milaca, Mike (Anne) of Texas. Cherished grandfather of Lisa (Chuck) Daley of Cambridge, Christina of Minneapolis, Megan, Robert, and Katie of Milaca. Great Grandfather to Kaden & Joshua Daley. Brother of Richard, Joyce, Jimmy, and Bobby…and many numerous, dear friends.
