Obituary of Michael Gusk
Michael Phillip Gusk, 62, of Isanti passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at home surrounded by family.
He was born March 31, 1948 in Braham, Minnesota to Eddie and Elsie (Madsen) Gusk. He grew up on a farm in Stanchfield and attended school in Braham. After his schooling he worked on the home farm.
On August 2, 1975 he was united in marriage to Linda Grose in Dayton, MN. They lived in Dayton for a short time before moving to Bethel where they raised their children. They purchased 30 acres in rural Isanti and built a home. After 13 years they sold the home and 10 acres and built their retirement home on 20 acres.
Mike worked for Adolfson & Peterson Construction Company, retiring after 35 years as a labor foreman. Mike and Linda spent retirement years traveling in their RV and wintering in Mission, Texas.
He enjoyed gardening, working on his yard, playing horseshoes, going on walks, traveling in their camper - taking their children on several trips in the western U.S. over the years. Mike was always a hard worker, working hard during the week so he could play on the weekend. He was very handy, building and fixing anything, enjoyed campfires, tractors, a good dancer, and taught many lessons throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by is parents. Michael is survived by his wife Linda of Isanti, son Phillip Gusk of Ankeny, IA, daughters Danya and husband Blair Shearing of Isanti, Heather and husband Todd Holden of Savage, Michelle and husband Luke Spencer of Cambridge, eight grandchildren Michael and Mark Gusk, Emily and Zachary Shearing, Gavin and Teyah Holden, Lucas and Darren Spencer, sisters Collette and husband Ed Stavem of Ogilvie, Colleen Hanson of St. Peter, Judy Maynard of Anoka, Janet and husband Larry Brisbin of Bradford, brothers Eddie and wife Mary Lou Gusk of Stanchfield, Barry and wife Marge Gusk of Anoka, David and wife Sharon Gusk of Pine City, special Texas winter friends Doug and Linda Tasa of Coon Rapids, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his best Schnauzer friend Annie.
